I bisexuality a choice? - 2007/08/27 00:00
I am a lesbian woman and I have never taken a side on the whole "gay is not a choice" debate. Some people just have different opinions but most gay/lesbian people agree that you are born gay you dont turn gay. But what about the people who dont realize they are gay until they are middle-aged? Were they born gay and didnt know it? The reason for this is because I was just on a website for a lesbian/bi-women group that says "stop pressuring bisexual women to make a choice! Being bisexual is a choice" Does this mean that they choose to like women and they can choose not to or does it just mean they they have taken their place in the gay/lesbian community as being impartial to both men and women. As a lesbian I feel confused because honestly I have never heard a gay/bisexual person say I chose to be this way. Why would anyone choose to be ridiculed? It would be easier if we could choose to not be gay so we werent bashed all the time. Can someone shed some light on this situation.
